Fort Myers–based artist and producer Cosmo Cloudy continues to carve out her own lane with “After All,” a moody, intimate, handmade, and emotionally loaded slice of alt pop. Entirely self-directed, produced, and mastered on her phone using BandLab, Cosmo Cloudy embodies true DIY spirit, blending influences as wide-ranging as The Weeknd, SZA, Metallica, and Red Hot Chili Peppers into a sound that sits comfortably between electro pop, dark pop, and alternative indie R&B.

With these influences layering upon one another, “After All” moves intimately, as it opens with immersive, deep bass that sinks into your chest, paired with hard, steady beats that keep everything grounded. Floating above that foundation are shimmering melodies that glow with a hazy and haunted atmosphere. Cosmo Cloudy’s soft, tender, and lusciously molten voice slips in almost effortlessly, like honey slowly dripping in the dark. She sings vulnerably, unguarded but controlled, letting the emotion do the heavy lifting.

She refrains from the line, “I miss you, I miss you / You are on my mind every day,” letting the simplicity hit hard. Beneath her lead vocal, a thick male voice hums faintly in the background, tensing up the atmosphere, like an echo of the person she can’t quite let go of.
