Long Island rapper Arrow Santi isn’t holding back on his latest album, Arrogance. This is a deep dive into the dark corners of his psyche, fueled by cynicism and a dose of self-assured swagger.
Recorded entirely in Bay Shore, NY, Arrogance is a collection of self-produced beats and samples. The soundscapes are as varied as Santi’s emotions, ranging from tense and ominous to sultry and seductive.
The album opens with “A Menace,” a track that sets the tone for the entire project. Tense sound effects and hard-hitting beats create a sense of unease, while Santi raps with an intimidating, churning gravity in his cold, deep voice. He talks about self-improvement, connecting with his fans and assuring his success.
“Damn, Things Changed,” is a standout. A sultry, sexy beat lays the foundation for a song about love and betrayal. The catchy chorus details a past relationship gone sour, with Santi rapping about a woman who didn’t deserve his devotion. With a thrill, he raps about his unflinching revenge on her.
The rest of Arrogance continues this exploration of dark themes. “Way It Goes” boasts smug, electrifying bursts of energy, with trippy beats and Santi’s smug flow radiating an undeniable confidence. Meanwhile “Emotional” finds Santi spitting angry verses about the dangers of vulnerability over deceptively relaxing instrumentals.
The album closes with “North & South.” Santi maintains his signature coldness by stating “do not be surprised” when his heart is cold, over intriguing harmonies and soothing yet mysterious melody that wraps up his suave attitude and theme of Arrogance completely.
With a strong social media presence and a dedicated fanbase, Arrow Santi is a rapper on the rise. So listen to his latest Arrogance.
