At just 20, Glasgow-based artist Noa Quin continues to carve out his distinct identity with the intimate and self-assured “Automatic – demo,” released October 3, 2025. Originally from Warrington and raised in St Andrews, Noa has been recording since he was 15, steadily refining his craft. His third major release, “Automatic,” showcases his maturing songwriting sensibilities, thoughtful, melodic, and emotionally grounded, while still holding onto the homemade charm of his earliest recordings. Written, performed, and produced entirely by Noa in his dad’s garage using modest equipment, the song carries that lo-fi warmth and raw honesty that make it impossible to fake.
“Automatic” unfolds like a quiet confession wrapped in lush, melancholic beauty. It opens with gentle, soothing guitar strums that immediately set a tender, introspective tone. Noa’s deep, rich voice enters singing delicately and breathily, as he navigates verses about love, addiction, and emotional dependency. The writing is poetic yet piercing, filled with vivid imagery like “We’re automatic, like a user consumed by his habit” and “I’ll try to make do with a vial of you, go easy my killer, my methadone.” The lyrical vulnerability feels lived-in, even if, as Noa admits, the story isn’t strictly autobiographical.
As the song progresses, his delivery becomes more impassioned, building toward moments of pure, glistening falsetto that reveal the full range of his vocal control. The production is deliberately unpolished. It’s intimate, tactile, and brimming with heart. The imperfections only enhance its authenticity, letting the listener feel like they’re right there in that garage, surrounded by echoes of late-night emotion.
“Automatic – demo” might wear the label demo, but make no mistake — it’s a fully realized emotional statement. Vulnerable, haunting, and strikingly mature, Noa Quin proves that sometimes the rough edges are where the real beauty lives.
