The Kyiv, Ukraine, trio B# (whose name is pronounced “be sharp”) plays fantastic rock music. B# is a new project that began in 2023 with the release of the single “Get Out” on April 7th. The band members are Anton (vocals and guitar), Vlad (drums), and Yura (bass and vocals) and have vast experience in the live music industry, management, and production.
Kyiv native and guitarist Anton Krasnov, along with Chernihiv-based Yura Potsipukh on bass and Sievierodonetsk native Vladyslav Kulikov on drums, make up the band. During his four years in Canada, Anton helped organize the Montebello Rock Fest and the Ottawa Blues Fest, where he worked with veteran artists such as Rammstein, Prophets of Rage, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Megadeth, Queens of the Stone Age, Iggy Pop, Limp Bizkit, Korn, The Offspring, Sum 41, and Billy Talent. In 2018, Anton moved back to Kyiv at NK | Nastya Kamenskykh’s invitation to work in public relations and marketing for the company. A year later, he decided to go out on his own as a performer and left his position in the entertainment industry. Thus, the X-Factor audition and subsequent victory with the Break the Silence demo in the Experiment portal’s Best Music Song of Summer 2020 contest was his first public performance after giving up a successful professional job with a top Ukrainian celebrity in favor of his desire. B# is now in the studio with Pidzemka Records in Kyiv, recording their debut studio album. It has been announced that the April release of “Rock n Roll” will take place.
Frontman Anton had some insight into the song’s ethos. The theme of ‘Get Out’ is cultural ignorance and the disastrous results it may (and often does) have. The song links to “Manufacturing Consent” by Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky and depicts a society with corrupted ideals as a result of this propaganda model. The most upsetting aspect is the widespread acceptance and encouragement of aggressiveness, brutality, and hatred toward a foreign country. It’s crazy and alarming, and “Get Out” is an attempt to forewarn others and save them from the same destiny. Therefore, all these rebellious and thought-provoking ideas come alive in an exhilarating rock song full of resonant guitars and blood-pumping vocals. Rock fans all over the globe can give this track a spin. You never know; they just might be the next big thing in the industry, and it starts with a solid hymn. Which “Get Out” clearly is! Ultimately, it’s a track that pushes you to headbang to its power riffs and raw drumming and have a good time while at it. It energizes you to the core and fills you up with enough heroic energy to stand up to the man. If society is that big of a bully for you, then B#’s music is the dose you need to charge you right up. I believe that is the focus of rock music today: to rejoice at the strength it gives you to get through the harsh times.
