(Because) We Belong ft. Dr Chrispy by Rogue FX: Review

Andrew Wood is the uber-talented mind behind Rogue FX, a groovy electronica act. His synth-infused melody “(Because) We Belong” features Dr Chrispy with an abundance of atmosphere attached to it. Accompanying the track is an inspirational voice and the pulse of synthwave. Ultimately it’s a form of resonance EDM fans would gravitate towards.

“(Because) We Belong” is one of those songs that hooks you in with sentiment. This is evident from the arpeggio’s entrance followed by a gripping guitar rhythm. Once you find comfort in its cadence, a powerful singer arrives to add a touch of magic. Ladies and gents, the EDM realm has been my top five genres as of late. This genre’s uplifting elements directly correlate with dopamine levels in one’s system. So, when the thunderous beats finally initiated in “(Because) We Belong”, I had a thrilling mood boost. At this point, the only direction a melody can take you is upwards, a delightful transcendence if you will.

Since the 1980s are making a solid comeback with its futuristic synthwave sound, its influence is felt all around. Certainly, it can be grasped in Rogue FX’s hit track from the vibing beat drops. Speaking of which, those sequences draw you in with a powerful synergy between the beats and synthesizers. The latter’s arpeggios were highlighted more instead of fading in with the vocal-heavy sections. Altogether, “(Because) We Belong” should be on your radar if you’re down for a melodic ascension!
