Black Mountain by Black Mountain Tabernacle: EP Review
Black Mountain Tabernacle are veterans at making beautiful Americana music. Their splendid EP “Black Mountain” has serene melodies filled with acoustic layers and an evocative narrative that’ll keep you hooked. This takes place through charismatic vocals, clean guitar bits, and the inclusion of an innate country sound from a banjo. But, there’s more to this EP, so let’s move on ahead, folks.
The first track “Horses” begins with a classic Americana vibe. It has that cinematic flair that we all know and love about the genre. This cadence is brought on through clean guitar chords and a singer that charms their way into our souls. It’s a song that resonates with you immensely because of the soothing tempo and warm spirit. The next one’s called “The Light” and this is where a playful banjo joins the melody. The entirety of the song has a country-esque vibe to it, and I’m digging the sound! Eventually, when more instruments join in, the track evolves into a powerful crescendo of country folk that’s an ideal jam.
The last song of the EP entitled “Done Me Wrong” is an evocative tale filled with soul and cadence. It begins with a soft acoustic guitar plucking and transcends into a poetic verse filled with solid instrumentals. The percussions also follow a pleasant pattern that uplifts the nature of the track and makes it a perfect number to hear while journeying across American soil.
