Break The Matrix by Moon and Aries: Album Review
Tom Aries and Jordana Moon are a melodic duo who’ve never failed to impress me with their chemistry and rhythm. Their album “Break The Matrix” is the perfect synergy of trip-hop, trance, and synthpop. Altogether, the melodic act is captivating with an electronic cadence and a soul-stirring narrative.
The opening songs, “Illumination Society” and “The Butterfly Effect,” are a passionate blend of synthesizers and rich vocal passages. Moon’s intimate voice is as hypnotic as ever, and Aries’ beat magic is the ideal combination. Next up are the stunning trip-hop melodies “Never For Me” and “Rescued.” A groovy layer of basslines and beats keep us entertained, all the while a smooth piano sequence keeps it all together. The tempo is sensational and equally danceable for a late-night rave out on the beach. Upon reaching the psychedelic energy of “From Another Dimension,” my senses felt mesmerized and the self at ease. Trippy synthwave textures met an ethereal singer, and the two together produced an alluring cadence.
Moon and Aries are musicians who’ve delighted me each time with their innovative take on the electronica genre. Their compositions take you by surprise and create a seductive mood that enchants your mind, body, and soul. The album’s conclusion “Losing Control” is evidence of that, where an atmospheric tension is formed with an intense synth passage. Thus, please don’t miss out on this beautiful record, it’d be a sin to pass up on such an impressive sound!
