“Brighter Day,” the latest offering from NEEB and Jasmine Weatherill, is a delightful blend of jazzy lounge and ambient music that radiates joy and positivity. Recorded at the band’s Mobeus Studio with Tony Waite handling engineering and producing duties, the track is a testament to the group’s ability to create uplifting and immersive musical experiences.
NEEB, comprising Mark Lloyd on drums & percussion, Mark Hand on Rhodes Piano, Synthesizers, Loops, Vocoder, and Tony Wait on bass and production, has been crafting music together for the past two decades. Their collaboration with vocalist, guitarist, and violinist Jasmine Weatherill, with her vocals and harmonies, incorporates soulful richness to their sound.
“Brighter Day” is the perfect antidote to winter gloom as it unfolds gently, with soothing keys cascading like water droplets in a tranquil landscape. The Rhodes piano adds a jazzy touch, setting a relaxing tone that invites listeners into a state of calm. The music begins clear, but then the percussion starts to tease with its steely cymballic rustling. The rhythm section comes alive as the drums pour in, pattering, engaging, and grooving with a vibrant energy uplifting the spirit.
Jasmine’s deep and thick vocals reverberate throughout the song, delivering catchy melodies with a hazy and ethereality. Her voice brings texture and emotion to the atmosphere. Fusing upbeat rhythms with spacey and calming elements creates a dynamic and immersive listening experience.
“Brighter Day” just had its release party at the Georgian Theatre, Stockton, this Feb 24, only to further solidify its significance as a song meant to be celebrated and enjoyed.
