Neska Rose is back with a new single, and this one’s got teeth. Released July 25th, 2025, “Bubbling!” is the latest self-written and self-produced track from the 19-year-old LA artist, pulling from neo-soul, funk-pop, and 90s alt influences to craft something cheeky and cutting. Inspired by a real encounter, where someone kept trying to coax her into a hot tub, Neska flips that discomfort into a sharp metaphor for intimacy gone sideways. She’s talked about how the song is about being in love but also repelled, about wanting closeness but not feeling safe enough to be fully yourself. That tension sits right at the heart of “Bubbling!”, and it makes the whole thing fizz with restless energy.

Musically, the track bursts to life right out of the gate. The horns swell jubilantly, while the beat drops thick and irresistible. Neska’s high, quirky voice rides over it all with a catchy and melodic, sweet ache, tender but also emphatic, like she’s restlessly trying to get it through while replaying the whole tension, fear and unease creeping up her when she was almost being pulled into the tub.

And the lyrics don’t pull punches either. She flips between tenderness and disgust, crooning about being “in love with you” one moment and spitting lines like “Shave, shave that thing off your face” the next. It’s a push-pull of attraction and revulsion, intimacy and irritation, which makes the chorus—“I’m sure it’s really bubbling in there”—land with a sting.

The accompanying video, co-directed with her parents and shot by her mom, doubles down on the DIY, lo-fi charm, channeling the weird brilliance of 90s MTV.
