Bullpup released tuneful new song ‘Five More Minutes’
There are highs and lows in every relationship. You can only go so far in love and lust, and eventually, something has to give. Bullpup, a theatrical emo band from Boston, looks back on and looks forward to their relationships—both successful and unsuccessful—on their most recent single, ‘Five More Minutes’.
The single is equal parts starry-eyed love song and memorial, having been partially written during a relationship and finished in its aftermath. The single sounds like it belongs on the Alan Melken-penned soundtrack for a Tony Hawk video game, drawing inspiration from early 2000s emo, pop punk, and musical theater soundtracks. If ‘Five More Minutes’ is the light going out around you as the bartender hits the lights, their two previous singles, ‘Full Glass’ and ‘Last Call’, are a full glass and a last call, respectively. Bullpup has teamed up with Mike Abiuso once more in an effort to increase their stakes and refine their theatrical aesthetic.
