Chicago’s Attack the Sound have been carving out their own lane with this smooth, genre-blurring “Chi-Pop” vibe, and “Can’t Stop Loving You” feels like them fully settling into that groove. Blending indie pop, soul, and a touch of modern R&B, the band leans into warmth, flavor, and feel-good intimacy, without losing that polished musicianship Chicago is known for. Produced by Isaiah Sharkey, the track carries a laid-back confidence that doesn’t try too hard but still gets under your skin.
Right from the jump, “Can’t Stop Loving You” eases you in with a gentle piano glide before the beat drops in. It’s steady, unhurried, and inviting. Then the vocals arrive, and that’s where things really start to simmer. Davo Sounds comes in with a high, tender tone, singing delicately, almost like he’s savoring every word.
Then enters Lauren “Lo Keyz” Bell, and whew, her voice brings a whole new depth. Rich, smooth, and just a little sultry, she balances his tone perfectly. The two play off each other like a call-and-response at times, and when they come together on the chorus, it just clicks. Their harmonies wrap around the groove like silk.
The instrumentation stays right in its pocket. Soft guitar licks in the background, while the rhythm section keeps things gently swaying, giving the couple privacy.
They use food and flavor as metaphors for love and desire. And they attract you with melting, tasting, and craving blur the line between romance and indulgence.
By the end, “Can’t Stop Loving You” leaves you with that same feeling it describes—something sweet, smooth, and a little addictive.
