Chicago singer-songwriter Sacha Mullin’s jazzy and progressive pop album, “Casino Wilderness Period,” hosts captivating 8 tracks produced by Todd Rittmann.
We spiral through this musical wilderness begin with the lead single, “ARRANGING FLOWERS,” where Sacha Mullin’s pleading and theatrical voice swoons over rhythmic drumming, striking piano lines, and driving guitars. Check out its music video to fully engage in the music with the lyrics revolving around parasocial relationships with celebrities, materialism and existentialism. Backing Mullin’s vocals are the sonorous and luscious vocals of Emily Bindiger. Together, they submerge the song in a replenishing vocal dive.
“Neptune in the Snow” doesn’t hold back either, with its thumping drums and graceful piano melodies. Mullin’s soulful vocals deliver a stunning and emotional performance that ripples throughout the song.
As the album draws to a close with “Window Out,” a cinematic and suspenseful flair takes over. The rhythmic drumming propels the song forward while soulful notes intermingle with ethereal backing vocals by Mem Nahadr. The song closes with a mesmerizing rendition of Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warwick’s line, “The windows of the world are covered with rain.”
“Casino Wilderness Period” is totally out of the ordinary with the stand-out vocals of Sacha Mullin. The album would be incomplete without impressive and successful vocalists Emily Bindiger, Judi Vinar, Annmarie Cullen, and Mem Nahadr backing up our singer.
