Following her previous single ‘Outta My Mind’, Los Angeles RnB artist Destiny Imani’s new song ‘Chosen’ is a mellow and seductive number that narrates an authentic and heartfelt story about choosing one’s beloved. It is the second single from Imani’s highly anticipated full-length EP.

It is unmistakable that she placed a great deal of thought and truth into every word and note of this melody. With a captivating guitar and bassline, this track provides a recognizable atmosphere that is a contrast from Imani’s past vibrant anthems. Imani’s roots in church music and her enthusiasm for songwriting are evident in ‘Chosen’, as she croons about loving sincerely, without any conditions, and to the fullest with her seductively raspy vocals. The reverberating backdrop and trap beats put her vocals in the front and center while providing enough space for the scintillating guitar licks. The keyboard solo was a beautiful addition to an already captivating composition. The instrumental arrangement beautifully sets the theme of the song for Imani’s vocal melodies to complete the picture.

Overall, ‘Chosen’ is a potent and moving melody that highlights Imani’s ability as both a songwriter and artist. She presents herself as a driving force to anybody trying to pursue their fantasies, not just as a songwriter and artist, but as an individual who is devoted to themselves and their wishes. I am eagerly looking forward to her upcoming EP.
