Claire Lauvergne releases enchanting song ‘Mourir aujourd’hui’
Claire wrote ‘Mourir aujourd’hui’ after learning that her father had a brain tumor in June 2018. Claire sometimes waits years for verses, a song’s “bridge,” or even one word. Her dad died in 2019. She thought that since he was no longer limited by his sick earthly body, which prevented him from speaking and understanding the last year of his life, there was no longer a language barrier. Since Claire was unable to see her father much during his last years due to his illness, she suffers daily, can’t have a normal life or social life, and has trouble talking on the phone. Some listeners appreciate and understand this song, even find themselves there: those for whom life is a continuous suffering, whether physical, moral, or both.
