Countdown (feat. Tihane) by Chris Saunders: Review
“Countdown” is a track by Chris Saunders. His lead vocals were spectacular, while Tihane was featured as backing vocals. Filled with the enthusiastic energy of trip-hop and some tribal house, the song has a charm that you can deny.
While hearing “Countdown” I got immense vibes of a hit summer single that can enliven a beach party to its zenith. There’s such a wonderful essence of “cool” emanating from the track. For instance, the frequency of bass notes on the track as well as the guitar fillers add a nice touch of flair that uplifts the overall rhythm of the melody. As for the vocal segments, style and attitude absolutely grace the stage. Mixing with different genres such as hip-hop and beach house, the singing is more on par with rap and soul. Just when I thought the song couldn’t get any more upbeat and funky, a wonderful strumming guitar enters the premise later on the track. So vibrant, and filled with life, the song might as well be your soundtrack for your next summer outing. All the while let the rhythms of “Countdown” make each ocean side visit or brisk walk entertaining and much groovier.
The main vibe of the song relies on its smooth vocal sections, and most importantly its beat structure. Add any other drum pattern, and the song wouldn’t be like it is. Rather, a percussion style that is mixed for more snare effects to come together for an “island” or “tribal” sound.
