Crush by Josy B: Review
Josy B’s new single, ‘Crush’, has soaring synthesizers with a dance-driven rhythm, creating a feel-good and happy ambiance. The song is the fourth track on her EP. Her style and flare are reminiscent of pop queens such as Kesha, Katy Perry, and Jennifer Lopez. ‘Crush,’ however, has a retro-pop sound as well as a modern flare, making the tune new yet with a vintage flavor. ‘Crush’ is a refreshing and lively song with a whimsical element. Sincere, passionate, and honest, the song effortlessly ensnares your senses and takes your spirit flying on a sound cloud.
The songs’ different sound schemes and rhythms create a lovely pop collage with hints of soul, R&B, and a dash of blues. Kicking beats create an impossible-to-resist joyful rhythm. It travels through you, swaying your hips and moving your shoulders. The voice blends with the beats and disperses the instruments to create a gleaming canvas. As it absorbs the intensity of the rhythms, a tenacious bassline ties the music together. Powerful hooks reverberate throughout the mix, flowing in and out of the new vocalists.
‘Crush,’ which was recorded with famous producer Travis House, is a collection of infectious songs suitable for all audiences. Furthermore, although the music reaches out to listeners, the lyrics are incredibly relatable. The singer communicates with viewers on an intimate level through the lyrics, which contain a personal tale that touches on the emotional sides of relationships.
