Dank Ferretโs debut album Democrazy, dropped on June 23, 2025, and with it comes a new kind of raw, unfiltered energy from the mountains of Pennsylvania. The four-piece band, Tony B., Lance Harshbarger, Larry Karstetter, and Louis Units, joined later by Vincent Units, leans into spontaneity to record tracks in single takes that will never be played the same way again. Itโs the essence of their ethos: music as a living moment, captured once and left untamed. The record sounds like freedom carved out of distortion, rhythm, and grit.
The albumโs opener, โDF We Calling This,โ has sparkling cymbals and grinding guitars that circle in a dark, brooding pattern. Like a revving engine, the band is testing the boundaries of how much tension they can build before it breaks loose. Moving deeper, โPaint It Dankโ plays with a similar heaviness, as drums thump over churning guitars, whilea gritty line slices through like a siren in fog. Itโs unsettling and mesmerizing, as it pulls you into an expansive and claustrophobic space.
It closes with โT.S.F.,โ where the riffs distort and layer intensely building until they feel almost suffocating, yet above them, a sharper line darts through like a spark refusing to die. The drums donโt just keep time, they jab, slam, and hammer, hitting urgently.
Across Democrazy, youโre left with mood, texture, and raw force to shape your thoughts at your own will. And in that space, Dank Ferret proves their bite is as wild as their name.
