Chaotic Silence has stepped boldly into the spotlight with their debut album Dissonance, released on September 27, 2025. The Indian alternative rock duo has been building anticipation for this 10-track odyssey, and the payoff is striking. Drawing on influences as wide-ranging as Linkin Park, Deftones, Nirvana, and Radiohead, theyโve created a heavy record, dripping in vulnerability, longing, and release. The DIY ethic runs through every layer, recorded partly at home and partly at Mumbaiโs Wibe Studio, and you feel the authenticity of a creator.
Opening with โJaanebahaar,โ the band turns up shimmering with guitars that form a dreamy mist, soon undercut by smacking drums. The singerโs tender voice echoes hazily into the soundscape, like a memory trying not to fade. But then the guitars turn gritty, heightening the urgency of his wailing delivery. It embodies the recordโs title, with the serenity and disruption coexisting.
Midway through, โNadaan Dilโ steals the spotlight with its insanely sick sound. Distorted guitars grind against bustling drums, while the singer comes up with his hypnotic, numbed melancholy that slips between Hindi and English. His despondent tone speaks volumes about heartbreak and helplessness, and just as the gloom settles in, a grave rap verse cuts through and further dynamizes the music. The chorus will get you singing along while closing your eyes just to feel the heaviness weighing down on you.
Closing the album, โTu Hai Wahiโ shifts back to the ethereal. Wispy high vocals hover like smoke while guitars drive forward and drums keep a steady thump. It feels like release, a hazy exhale after the storm.
With Dissonance, Chaotic Silence delivers a turbulent and tender debut. Check it out on Spotify.
