Love Ghost and Cinnamon Babe join forces on “DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?,” a blistering alt-metal anthem that’s equal parts rage and resilience. Produced by Mike Summers (Tech N9ne, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne), this track is a sonic assault.
“DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?” explodes out of the gate. A building riff gives way to pounding drums and clashing cymbals, setting the stage for Love Ghost’s signature high vocals. His voice is full of grit and passion, defiant against the backdrop of pulsating instrumentals and gnarly heavy guitars.
The intensity drops, replaced by a shimmering soundscape and a sense of vulnerability. Love Ghost’s voice softens, a touch of ongoing pain and weariness echoing in his delivery. The guitars return with a vengeance, and Love Ghost’s voice becomes a hoarse shriek as he pins us down with the query, “Do you like me now?”
The ferocity intensifies with the arrival of Cinnamon Babe’s electrifying verse. Her voice is a chilling counterpoint, a menacing whisper that slithers into your ear. The lyrics powerfully defy negativity with the poetically powerful lines, “In my truth is the me you hate / I lost some faith in becoming my best / Cause being hated is something I accept.”
The accompanying video, directed by King Zabb makes things exciting as it features Love Ghost and Cinnamon Babe engaged in a heated gaming session against each other, a metaphor for the constant competition and hustle.
Want more from the artist? Love Ghost has an entire album coming up, produced by Tim Skold with Marilyn Manson being the guitarist. So stay tuned!
