Gaslighters.Anonymous is a “band” that recently released their twelve-track album “Doesn’t Exist.” on March 5th, 2024. Gaslighters.Anonymous carries a school sound where we can hear the vocalist’s raw voice without heavy autotune.
The album starts with “Generational Warfare,” and the track opens with the chiming sound of bells and soft guitar strumming, setting the song’s mood. “Back and forth to side to side” is a repeated lyric throughout the song, which voices “generational warfare” for a “generation that don’t care.” This song calls out the problems in our generation with a sarcastic tone. The band’s drummer incorporates cymbal splashing and a solo guitar riff toward the end of the song, which will have you air guitaring while singing along to the lyrics “generational warfare warfare, for a generation that don’t care don’t care”.
“Said The Devil In Passing” is a song in this album that ironically highlights the problems of war and genocide through the words from “the devil in passing.” The humming effects of the vocalist in this song set a sarcastic tone that adds to the irony. Halfway through the song, the combination of the guitar and drum cymbals turns more upbeat, which gets the listener ready to sing along to the last half of the song.
“No Hwites = Black Heaven” closes this album with another ironic, catchy, fast-paced track, the core theme covering racism.
Overall, “Doesn’t Exist.” by Gaslighters.Anonymous is an album filled with ironic songs that shed light on the social and political problems our world is facing. Some tracks in this album, like “No Hwites = Black Heaven,” may be adopted as an anthem by a group of people due to its fast-paced nature and catchy melody.
