Duality I by We Are To Blame: EP Review
Swedish melodic metal band, We Are To Blame released their six-track EP “Duality I”. The band was formed in 2020 with Alice Hartvig on vocals, Johan Karlsson on guitar and vocals, and Urban Granbacke on guitars. Their band follows the genres such as power metal, melodic death metal, progressive metal, and electronic.
Their first song, “Breathe,” slowly starts with all the instruments, and all of a sudden it becomes loud. The song is very melodious, with the soothing soft voice of the vocals, but the instruments sound powerful, especially the guitar riffs, which give you the vibe of men going to war with their blood-boiling and energetic riffs. The keys interspersed throughout the composition change the entire atmosphere of the track in a positive way, especially when combined with the powerful drumming and harmonizing guitar solos.
“The Change” is a gloomy track that brings a desperation and melancholy feel to the forefront by using some very growling vocals and a very heavy musical arrangement that hits you hard to your very core.
“All I Want to Say” closes the EP on a dramatic note, with a piano solo that is simply superb and a male and female contrasting vocal performance that is pleasing and tuneful.
The melodic album “Duality I” has given the listeners a neo-classical feel with its energetic riffs, solos, drumming, keys, and perfect vocals, making the EP one of a kind.
