Electric Avenue released enchanting new song ‘Love Lost’
Electric Avenue, a “new” band from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, was having fun playing gigs. Fans of all ages could relate to the group’s diverse covers. 2020 ended it.
The boys finally got together, rehearsed, and recorded their first album Deadwood at Factory Studios with owner Ben Johnson in January 2021. April brought more Factory live tracks. Their debut songs were well received because each band member wrote about personal issues in a variety of genres. Songs about love opportunities missed, fighting anxiety demons, honoring firefighters, and looking up from your device to hear climate change warning bells are just a few of the themes. They record live with a few overdubs to capture the energy in the room. ‘Love Lost’ debuted last week. ‘Remember that Summer when it never rained’ sets the tone for this song as Lyndon Watson describes a lost love from the past. The band sings well throughout. The heat of a long-lost summer and teenagers growing up and playing is palpable.
