Emma-Clare releases entrancing new track โNights Like Theseโ
Emma-Clare is a North of England-born artist currently residing in Cambridge. She has incorporated the folk music she grew up with into her own compositions. At the end of September, she releases her debut studio album, โNights Like These,โ which combines folk, indie-ballad, and acoustic music. It was entirely written, recorded, and produced as a bedroom solo project.
Her debut albumโs title track, โNights Like Theseโ, is one of her songs. The song was written in the lonesome hours as a tribute to the first-time adult experience and the struggle to be oneself while trying to fit in. The hushed, rapid-fire vocals and simple, acoustic fingerpicking, which alludes to the time of day or night when it was recorded, perfectly capture the anxious excitement of beginning something new. It became the name of the album because, in my opinion, this track best represents the rest of the album. It captures the way of life she was leading and serves as a soundtrack to the previous year. What started as a simple 4-chord, 4 am concept has developed into one of her most proud works.
