EOAN Releases Cathartic New Single ‘The End’
Singer-Songwriter Morten Jacob Grell Hansen started his adventure into the world of music at the age of 14. His own work continues to draw inspiration from the late 1980s and early 1990s music he grew up listening to. Bands like Depeche Mode – Erasure – Ultravox, made Synths and samplers a key component of his productions. A number of grunge bands from the same era prompted him to attempt to fuse the two musical genres. Morten has cooperated with bands such as Summons and Los Tacos and co-written songs with producer Lasse Hansen during the past three decades. Recently Morten debuted as a solo artist under the moniker EOAN, where he published his first EP, Before We Begin. His subsequent song was a homage to the late Andrew Fletcher, in which he was joined by his dear buddy “MOERCH.”
He released his latest single ”The End” on 20 November 2022. It is a cathartic experimental alt-rock song bearing EOAN’s signature sound. The layers of synths are accompanied by the fuzzy backdrop electronic beats and his soaring melodic vocals create an otherworldy captivating environment. This heavily synth-driven song has a prominent presence of reverberating guitars that may remind some listeners of Deftones and Radiohead. A brilliant mix of electronica and alternative rock, it’s one of those songs that hook you up from the get go and don’t let you go until you finish.
