Eva Pagán steps into a new era with EP1, a vibrant, Spanglish electropop debut arriving November 28 via Too Lost. Formerly known as Eva Westphal, the NYC–LA–Miami artist introduces a fresh identity rooted in family, culture, and self-determination. After racking up more than 5 million streams, earning major editorial support from Spotify, performing at SXSW, and selling out iconic venues like Baby’s All Right, she’s now carving out a lane entirely her own. The EP is, as she puts it, “a love letter to my immigrant family,” carrying forward heritage across languages and borders. Fans of Rosalía’s adventurous pop, Charli XCX’s bold electronics, and Bad Bunny’s emotional storytelling will feel right at home.
Right out of the gate, “Far” defines the mission. Minimal production glows in soft pulses of low-end beats while Pagán’s thick, deep, rich, mezzo voice brushes each line with warmth. She sings with the light confidence of someone who has found pride in where she comes from: happiness wrapped in Spanglish sentiment, pop sweetness with roots still vividly intact. The track shows that distance may stretch miles, but family travels in memory, in language, in rhythm.
Then the EP flexes a little more swagger with “Till I Die,” a cooler, catchier cut built on sleek grooves and body-moving bass. She leans into her low register with satisfying confidence, tossing out lines that feel playful but grounded. Suddenly, her voice lifts into airy falsetto, echoing off the beat like a burst of celebration that joy radiates.
Across the project, Pagán balances vulnerability and shine, honoring her story without ever dimming the fun. EP1 shows that pop can move the body and carry a heritage at the same time. As chapters go, this one opens the book wide.
