Everything’s Better by Martin Reynolds: Review
Martin Reynolds is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and his bandmates Sheena Vultaggio is a pianist and vocalist, and Peter Voronov is on violin and viola. Their influences are The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, and many more. Martin Reynolds released his single “Everything’s Better” about beating the odds and looking at things with an optimistic perspective. It’s about finding hope in a time when there doesn’t seem to be any. It could be something as simple as how you feel when the sun comes out– it’s a brand new day. You could be in a bad mood one minute, but as soon as you are reminded of new hopes and experiences, your whole mood could change.
The song starts with the vocal and beautifully sounded acoustic guitar, accompanied by the piano tune, which is very soothing and calming. After a minute, the drums, bass, and backing vocals enter, changing the vibe of the track and harmonizing with the rhythm section and Martin. It has a little bit of a country feel, and a little bit of Bob Dylan or Rolling Stones infused.
Altogether, it is a feel-good track that can lift up the listeners’ spirits when they are down and give them hope like the song from The Beatles, “Here comes the sun” does. It is filled with nostalgia and happiness with perhaps a little bit of a sad undertone making it a brilliant song altogether.
