Riffindots return with โEverytime,โ a feral, joy-soaked EP that feels less like a polite listen and more like being strapped into a rusted carnival ride thatโs already in motion. Split between Boston and the Basque Country in France, the project is the work of Britta Pejic, musician, songwriter, artist, and general creative conduit, whose transatlantic process (songs sent through metaphorical pneumatic tubes to be polished by engineer Console Lole) somehow perfectly mirrors the chaos and charm of the music itself. This release also doubles as the final statement before her upcoming full-length Latitude Bera, and it lands with scorched-earth confidence.
The EP launches headfirst with โEverytime,โ that wastes absolutely no time, with gritty, buzzing guitars and rumbling, unhinged drums crashing in as Brittaโs high, eccentric voice immediately takes flight, soaring relentlessly with barely a pause to breathe. She darts between piercing upper registers and sudden dips into lower ranges, riding a gargling bassline, like itโs about to swallow the whole thing alive. The guitars clatter like garbage-can lids in freefall, and just when it feels like the song canโt get any more unhinged, a shrill synth solo tears through the mix, abrasively. Itโs stoner rock, acid rock, and pure cartoonish mayhem all rolled into one white-hot blast.
Then comes โForced Perspectives,โ flipping the script entirely. Gentle piano opens the door, glistening guitar lines shimmer in softly, and the bass settles into a deep, grounding pulse. Brittaโs voice turns relaxed and trailing, drifting through the track as the drums beat lightly underneath. Itโs meditative, warm, and quietly joyful, like floating after surviving the initial impact.
The closing โEverytime / Forced Perspectivesโ stitches both worlds together seamlessly, letting chaos dissolve into calm without interruption. Itโs a smart, generous move that captures the full Riffindots spectrum in one continuous ride, with no shuffle anxiety required, just hang on and enjoy the fall.
