1. Your roots can often shape your journey. Can you share a story or moment from your early life that had a significant impact on your path into music?
DRUIDESS: We were raised in an environment rich with music, with family members who were either musicians themselves or deeply passionate about it. Each of us found our own path into music at different stages of life. It developed through early childhood inspiration, discovering new genres, or being moved by influential performers. Those formative experiences, combined with a shared passion that grew over time, naturally led us to pursue music as a lifelong career and ultimately form a band.
2. Did your musical journey begin with formal training, or was it more of a personal exploration? How has that shaped your unique approach to your craft?
Druidess: Our journey began more through personal exploration than formal training. While some of us took early lessons, they were more of an introduction than a driving force. The real passion developed naturally over time. As we grew, we each found our own creative entry point, whether through being pushed to master challenging material, discovering songwriting as a form of expression, or diving into daily practice out of pure curiosity and inspiration. Those individual paths shaped the way we approach our craft today, blending discipline, emotion, and self-driven creativity into the sound we make together.
3. Who were some of the most influential figures in your early musical life, and how did they inspire your sound? Also, whatโs the story behind choosing the name โDRUIDESSโ?
DRUIDESS: Our name, DRUIDESS, was inspired by the Type O Negative track โBe My Druidess.โ Beyond that, each of us brings our own set of musical influences shaped by the instruments we play and the way we write. Weโve taken influence anywhere ranging from early classic rock to underground rap. Those diverse inspirations come together to form the foundation of our sound.
4. What do you believe sets your music apart? How would you describe your sound to someone discovering you for the first time, and what emotions or experiences do you hope to evoke in your listeners?
DRUIDESS: What sets our music apart is the rawness and honesty we preserve by avoiding the industry-standard, over-polished sound and letting the music speak for itself. We intentionally keep the grit, character, and emotional weight of real performance so the authenticity isnโt lost in excessive mixing or perfection. Most importantly, we make the music we want to hear, not what we think people expect. This is why we avoid labelling our music under specific genres.

5. For most artists, originality is first preceded by a phase of learning and, often, emulating others. What was this like for you? How would you describe your own development as an artist and music maker, and the transition towards your own style, which is known as METAL?
DRUIDESS: Everything in music is always inspired by other music. The writing process comes from hearing other music and creating the music that we want to hear. When it comes to our style, we donโt like to box ourselves into one genre. Metal is one of many genres that we draw inspiration from but we donโt consider ourselves a โmetalโ band.
6. Music often transcends entertainment. Whatโs your view on the role and function of music as political, cultural, spiritual, and/or social vehicles โ and do you try to affront any of these themes in your work, or are you purely interested in music as an expression of technical artistry, personal narrative, and entertainment?
DRUIDESS: For us, music is deeply spiritual. The ideas behind what we create feel less like theyโre invented and more like theyโre drawn from the ether. We treat it as a conduit for those intangible experiences, channeling them into our work as a form of higher expression. This ties into a lot of the symbolism used by the band.
7. Do you feel the rewards of your musical career match the energy and passion you invest in it, or are there different kinds of fulfillment youโre still seeking?
DRUIDESS: Weโre fulfilled simply by creating and releasing music that feels like an extension of who we are. Everything that comes after is just a by-product of the process. If people connect with what they hear, thatโs amazing, but itโs never been about numbers for us. The real reward is forming genuine connections through the music itself.
8. Can you walk us through your creative process? From the first spark of an idea to the finished track!
Whatโs the most essential part of your process, and how do collaboration or external influences shape your work?
DRUIDESS: There is no set process, trying to explain our creative process would do a disservice to the music itself. Everything comes at the right place at the right time.
9. On the flip side, what moment or achievement in your career so far has made you feel the proudest, and why? And letโs talk about your latest release and future plans.
DRUIDESS: Some of our proudest moments are the 2024 album release show, where we played our entire album under a bridge. It was a surreal experience. Hearing the first mix of our track โLavenderโwhich was our first ever released song, was also a proud moment that made us realize we had created something real and true to our vision
10. Do you think is it important for fans of your music to understand the real story and message driving each of your songs, or do you think everyone should be free to interpret your songs in their own personal way?
DRUIDESS: Some of our songs come from clear, personal stories, but the themes in them are broad enough for people to apply to their own experiences. The meaning behind the music matters to us because it keeps the art genuine, but we also believe listeners should be free to interpret each song in the way that resonates with them. The real value comes from the emotions people feel, whether they connect with the literal story or find something entirely their own within it.
