- Your roots can often shape your journey. Can you share a story or moment from your early life that had a significant impact on your path into music?
NOWISBORN: I grew up constantly creating and expressing myself, drawing, painting, styling myself, making clothes -so music naturally became an extension of that. Getting FL Studio in 7th grade was a big moment for me, because it made music feel accessible and hands-on. Then in high school, I took an entrepreneurship class that actually encouraged me to pursue it seriously. After switching to Ableton and developing my sound more, I eventually built up the courage to start releasing. Looking back, it wasnโt one single moment, but growing up surrounded by making art that really shaped my path into music.
- Did your musical journey begin with formal training, or was it more of a personal exploration? How has that shaped your unique approach to your craft?
NOWISBORN: Nah, It was definitely more of a personal exploration. Iโve always liked diving deep into things Iโm passionate about, and music was just another one of those things for me. I taught myself guitar and musicproduction, and honestly with the internet you can learn almost anything now. Not having formal training actually kinda helped shape my sound. It gave me the freedom to experiment without rules, and I think thatโs whatโs allowed my music to feel more authentic and uniquely mine.
- Who were some of the most influential figures in your early musical life, and how did they inspire your sound? Also, whatโs the story behind choosing the name โNOWISBORNโ?
NOWISBORN: I remember some of the first few songs I ever made being really heavily inspired by some of Drakeโs sexier, more bass heavy songs which I would say really influenced my sound.
As for my name, nowisborn comes from the way I try to live. I really believe the present moment is all we actually have. Weโre only young once, and I think a lot of people spend that time stressing about whatโs next instead of enjoying whatโs happening right now. To me, the now is always changing, always being born again. That idea shaped the name and the way I create. Nowisborn eventually evolved into born on streaming services, just simplifying it down.
- What do you believe sets your music apart? How would you describe your sound to someone discovering you for the first time, and what emotions or experiences do you hope to evoke in your Listeners?
- For most artists, originality is first preceded by a phase of learning and, often, emulating others. What was this like for you? How would you describe your own development as an artist and music maker, and the transition towards your own style, which is known as HIPHOP?
- Do you feel the rewards of your musical career match the energy and passion you invest in it, or are there different kinds of fulfillment youโre still seeking?
NOWISBORN: I think what sets my music apart is the way it feels. The production is really cinematic and stimulating, almost like it pulls you into a world rather than just a song. Sonically it sits between bass heavy pop, trap, rage, and EDM, but I donโt like boxing it into a single genre. When it comes to what I hope listeners experience, Iโm intentional about leaving it open. I donโt force a specific emotion or message. I create honestly and instinctively, and I like when listeners discover their own meaning in it. The goal is for the music to feel immersive and personal, whatever that ends up being for them.have their own experience with it.
NOWISBORN: Iโm still very early in my career, and I feel like I have so much more to give out and reach. Iโm enjoying the small victories but definitely have my eyes on a bigger picture.
- For NOWISBORN, Can you walk us through your creative process with Pump.fun and Lucid House? From the first spark of an idea to the finished track, whatโs the most essential part of your process, and how do collaboration or external influences shape your work?
For LUCID HOUSE, can you walk us through how the creative process worked on Pump.fun?
Lucid House: The creative process for pump was geared towards the creation of content on stream and trying to create โmomentsโ. Every week we try and have a set schedule of what Luca was doing and set up situations that could possibly lead to an interesting interaction. For Lucid house we wanted to show the progression of an artist so we also tried to showcase Luca shooting music videos and content, kind of the behind the scenes of what it takes to be a successful artist.
NOWISBORN: For me it usually starts pretty loose. Iโll open Ableton and just start jamming without too many preconceived ideas, unless I have something specific in mind. I like letting things happen naturally instead of forcing a direction right away. Streaming with Pump.fun and Lucid House definitely helped too, it pushed me to get up in the morning and just start creating. That routine made it easier to stay in a flow. Being around other creative minds like menoh, bhristo, and glacear also gave me great vibes to bounce Off.
- Creative work in a studio or home environment, or interaction with a live audience? Which of these two options excites you most, and why? For Lucid House, how do you think the interaction with the live audience adds to the process and why on Pump.fun?
NOWISBORN: Performing is my dream and I canโt wait to do it more, so definitely interacting with a live audience. Of course I love creating in the studio, but I do that everyday.
LUCID HOUSE: The interaction with the live audience definitely adds motivation because it lets us know we are getting our message and reasoning through, whether it be negative or positive feedback. However if there is no live interaction we are still able to post what happened on stream onto social media and that also motivates us to bring in more people to our stream. We are streaming on pump.fun because we believe in the idea of investing in your favorite creators. We are excited to be apart of the early start of pump streaming, giving us a head start to the platform and idea.
- Whatโs been the most challenging hurdle in either your personal life or music career, and how has it shaped you as an artist?
NOWISBORN: One of the biggest challenges for me has been simplifying my process. I used to overthink and do too much, which slowed me down. Learning to trust simpler ideas has helped me stay in a better flow and make music that feels more natural and honest.10. On the flip side, what moment or achievement in your career so far has made you feel the proudest, and why? And letโs talk about your latest release and future plans with the record day from your 30 day challenge.
NOWISBORN: Definitely getting a contract from this all this has been the highlight so far because it feels like the work Iโm putting in is actually paying off. I just released 2 songs on my latest project titled when youโre gone i think of you, and I definitely donโt plan on stopping anytime soon. Im working on an album as of this moment and I canโt wait to show yโall.
- With social media having a heavy impact on our lives and the music business in general, how do you handle criticism, haters, and/or naysayers in general? How was this experience while you were live streaming?
NOWISBORN: Honestly, itโs pretty easy for me to ignore. At the end of the day itโs usually just someone on the other side of a screen, and that makes it really easy to disregard. I kind of assume if someoneโs hating for no real reason, their life is probably way more depressing than mine, so I donโt take it personally haha. When I was live streaming, Iโd either ignore it completely or find the funny side of it. Having a tight group of homies who believe in me and a supportive family makes it a lot easier to brush that stuff off and stay focused.
