Singer-songwriter Antonello Brunetti’s newest endeavor is called Prana Voice. It is a 432 Hz holistic music project designed to aid in both the planetary healing and the ascension of the planet’s inhabitants.
The second single from the project is called “FLOW,” and it follows the first single “Awake” (which was released in January). “FLOW” is a mashup of various musical instruments and healing sounds sung with the voice, coming from the ancient tradition of the Essenes and the Essenian Healing.
This music affects the element of WATER, which is linked to our second chakra, creativity, and expression, thanks to its healing frequencies. It harmonizes everything in our bodies that is liquid (water, hormones, lymph, etc.), purges the cells of trauma and old memories, flushes out the energetic waste, transports it to the upper chakras and above, to the beings of Light, and then returns down inside with a renewed, tranquil, and regenerative energy. In these trying times we live in, it makes it easier to connect with our higher selves and our inner intuition. The song can be played while we meditate, while we practice yoga or go to therapy, or just to unwind. Check out the song and the exclusive interview below:
1. Can you tell us a bit about where you come from and how it all got started?
PRANA VOICE: I’ve released 4 albums with my name (Antonello Brunetti) as a singer songwriter, and I’m still quite active. I like to experiment with Music, and I just follow inspiration without forcing anything, so in my path I have done different things, from indie rock with bands to a very intimate and original folk rock acoustic, just me and my acoustic guitar, moved from a very small city in the south of Italy to the big London UK, playing my music in many beautiful venues before entering a more meditative state. I recently moved to this new project as “Prana Voice” combining the two main aspects of my life: Music and Therapy. And I’m loving it.
2. Did you have any formal training or are you self-taught?
PRANA VOICE: I guess my main training comes from when I was in my mother womb, because while she was pregnant of me she was spending most of her time studying music to enter conservatory (even if she actually never pursued that career after my birth). So I guess I absorbed quite a lot, it comes very natural to me, and I remember myself singing already when I was just a little kid. My older brother really liked to sing as well, so we used to listen to music and sing along, sometimes participating to local contests, just for fun. One day when I was around 13yo I found a guitar in my wardrobe (I know it sounds weird but that’s what really happened!), apparently an old guitar my father bought but never played… So I started to play with it and couldn’t stop for a year, completely self-taught. Then I started to write my first songs, and around 20 years old I started to study at the University of Music in Rome. I then combined the theory with my personal experience, and created my own style and technique of playing, which can be clearly experienced by listening to my songs.
3. Who were your first and strongest musical influences and why the name ‘PRANA VOICE’?
PRANA VOICE: Prana Voice means “The Voice of Prana”.
The “Voice” is mine, singing these healing sounds coming from the ancient tradition of the Essenes and Essenian Healing.
“Prana” is the primary subtle energy we all need to survive. We are alive because of the oxygen and the prana we breathe, and that circulates inside of us through energetic veins called Nadis (also known in chinese medicine as Meridians), which are circuits similar to the cardiovascular veins and arteries inside our physical body (the one transporting blood). The prana is just more subtle, less dense, so it’s not easily seen by our physical eyes, unless we start to train our perception (which I also teach people to do in my courses). In that case it is possible to see it and touch it as well, working with it to facilitate healing and restore the energy circuits, often blocked by our wounds, old trauma and limiting beliefs.
Being also a holistic therapist and teacher, I’ve realised it was time to combine my abilities as a musician and as a healer, creating songs to help people re-connect with their higher self, healing and feeling better, giving my little contribution to the healing of our beautiful planet, and the spiritual awakening of its inhabitants.
The music artist that literally changed my life is Joni Mitchell. Since I listened to one of her album for the first time (“The Hissing of Summer Lawns”) my life and my approach to Music changed completely: it has been like rediscovering an inner knowledge inside of me, which fed my passion and gave me motivation to do my part writing my own Music. I have so many other musical influences (Stereophonics, Carmen Consoli, Kula Shaker, Skunk Anansie, Cranberries, Jeff Buckley…), but Joni is always at the top!!
4. What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners, and how would you personally describe your sound?
PRANA VOICE: This new project of holistic music in 432hz is something that resonates with people because of the healing frequencies of the music and the voice. These key elements are touching the soul of the persons, bypassing our personalities. It’s something very deep, an experience that transports the listeners to a different state of consciousness, where they can find support and calm, regenerating and healing.
6. What’s your view on the role and function of music as political, cultural, spiritual, and/or social vehicles – and do you try and affront any of these themes in your work, or are you purely interested in music as an expression of technical artistry, personal narrative, and entertainment?
PRANA VOICE:
Music is one of the most powerful tool, and the people in charge know this very well, that’s why in the last few years we assisted to a decline of music and culture, so that can be much easier to control people. The real artists have been replaced by kids and singers coming out from these talent shows, with songs that sound all the same in every part of the world, with empty and superficial lyrics. But there is a whole circuit of true and committed artists in the underground circuit, which is still taking the process of making music as a responsibility, to share and increase awareness by offering quality and content.
Personally I use words and music in a ironic and smart way, so my songs are not polemic at all. When we fight against something we end up reinforcing that thing instead. So I focus in fighting FOR something, using my talent to share messages and emotions that can make people change their life and do something good, creating a better reality. With this project as PRANA VOICE, which has no lyrics but only vocals and music, this happens at a subtle level, without the need of a rational concept. We are thinking and worrying too much, sometimes the best thing we can do is to just stop and feel what truly resonates inside of ourselves. And this precious information passes by the heart instead, not the mind. We just need to take the time to contact this higher part of ourselves that knows everything and that is waiting to be more present in our everyday lives. Especially in these crazy times we are living now, with all the propaganda and fake news coming from the mainstream media, to let us feel powerless and fearful all the time, it is necessary to put ourselves in contact with that higher part of ourselves. Most people do that with intuition, meditation or other practices. I am offering my music and my therapies, knowing that this is the future of humanity. More and more researches are showing the power of Sounds both for healing the body and the mind: we are finally understanding that we are vibrations, and that other vibrational fields can affect our health in different ways. Like the experiments of Masaru Emoto about how sound and intention can affect the memory of Water (and we are made 75% by water!), and many others people which are revealing these information to the world. Sound is a beautiful world to explore and use to improve the way we live, and we are slowly getting there.
7. Do you feel that your music is giving you back just as much fulfillment as the amount of work you are putting into it or are you expecting something more, or different in the future?
PRANA VOICE:
With my singer songwriter main project I didn’t feel fulfilled at all, but that is because there’s no a real interest in this superficial world to share music with content and important messages (as I said above). With this new project as Prana Voice instead I have to say that everything is happening so easily and spontaneously, like it was meant to be. And I’m receiving many incredible reviews and feedbacks. My first song “AWAKE” was recently played by BBC radio, I’ve been interview by the legendary italian music journalist Red Ronnie in one of his tv shows, and many people are using my songs during therapy sessions with their patients, sharing some of their experiences with me, and all of this is very beautiful and rewarding. As I always say “Music is sharing, not competition”, so I’m just very grateful that I can finally share my music with more people.
8. What has been the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in your life or music career so far?
PRANA VOICE:
About my career, people from the music industry were always trying to change something or say something just because they could, very limited by their beliefs, interests and knowledge, without the ability to expand and see beyond, giving space to new things. So it was very hard to remain myself and still able to play my music. I’ve been open to any suggestion and change, but only listening to those that deeply resonate within myself. Authenticity has always been my priority: In the past I said NO to popular shows and similar opportunities, choosing to remain authentic instead, even if that pushed me away from the mainstream channels. I don’t regret that choice, because I truly think the world need more genuine and original people, especially nowadays, considering how this inhuman society is pushing us to be like obedient robots instead, controlling and imposing unnatural way of living and thinking.
Music is a powerful and sacred healing tool for me, and that’s my approach.
Music is sharing, not competition.
I’ve been through a lot in my life (especially physical and emotional illnesses, which compromised most of my childhood and life in general), but it’s all experience that made me who I am. I worked on myself a lot, and that made me able to help other people dealing with their life path, with the therapeutic sessions I do as my main job, and with my music.
I am just trying to do my part in helping people being true to themselves, healing and going back to Nature and to the real meaning of the word “Humanity”.
9. With social media having a heavy impact on our lives and the music business in general, how do you handle criticism, haters, and/or naysayers in general? Is it something you pay attention to, or simply ignore?
PRANA VOICE: Let’s start by saying that I don’t find social media to be social at all. They tend to make people feel even more isolated. Nothing can replace human interaction, looking at each other eyes, the tone of the voice, the touch. Also, these social media are often full of repressed people throwing their frustration on other people lives, hiding behind a screen. To answer your question then, if the criticism comes with constructive points I happily take it as a feedback, but if it’s just pointless I just laugh and move on. As I said above, I only invest my energy in something constructive, not against – but for, so I don’t waste time nor energy in replying to polemic comments. That said, I use social media sporadically to share my music, news about what I do for whom may be interested, and it’s a joy interacting with people all around the world. It’s a tool, if you use it properly can be a very nice way to interact and share.
10. Creative work in a studio or home environment, or interaction with a live audience? Which of these two options excites you most, and why?
PRANA VOICE: They both have their charm. My approach changes completely, and it may sound funny but I’m actually much more tense during the recording sessions in studio! Playing live is always a joy instead, and it is a spontaneous process. I don’t like to rehearsal much before a concert, as that would ruined my experience of the songs. I sing and play with passion, and that’s my strength. I feel the song and people can feel it as well through me, making it a powerful and beautiful exchange. When I’m on stage I am the best version of myself, and it’s actually my personal therapy session. Of course I’m anxious before the performance, but then I feel so relieved and happy afterwards. While in studio I’m a bit perfectionist, so I spend a lot of time recording, especially if other people are present in the room… being a more mechanical process, it just takes more time for me. But I love when I listen to the final product, there’s something so magical about it, and I feel very grateful for how Music has impacted and shaped my Life. Being able to share all of this with people it’s a blessing: I have a new album coming up, and many projects on the way. Looking forward to share them with you 😊
