Fly Away by Atomic Bronco: Review
Following the success of his previous singles ‘Get You Off My Mind’ and ‘Foolish Games’, Austin, Texas-based producer and songwriter Kyle Nuss’s solo indie alt-rock project Atomic Bronco kicks off 2023 with the release of the latest single ‘Fly Away’. This acoustic guitar-driven song gives the listeners a sense of direction Atomic Bronco is taking for his upcoming releases.
The song starts with an arpeggiated acoustic guitar riff backed by punchy drum beats. Atomic Bronco comes in with an easy laid-back vocal delivery that gives the song an Elliott Smith-esque vibe. The vocals are very expressive with a sense of longing and a melancholic undertone that intrigues the listeners to dig deeper into the dreamy lyrics. The chorus has a sense of urgency and it has that sing-along quality to it that stays stuck in your head for days. The electric guitar solo has a vintage warm tone that sounds so good in the mix
The overall tone of the song is warm and cozy with a vintage production style. The mix has a raw organic lo-fi vibe to it that is at the core of the indie genre. It almost has the same tone as an Elliott Smith or Tom Waits song. Highly recommended for fans of guitar-driven indie music.
