Amanda Holley’s latest single, “FOMO,” from her upcoming HolleyGraphic EP, hits different with her signature five-octave range now bottling up the surreal cocktail of yearning, nostalgia, and digital connection into one soul-soaked track. Right off the bat, the song opens softly, with a moody piano. Holley’s voice glides in smooth, pouring emotion with every syllable, while ghostlike background vocals echo like thoughts you try to suppress when you’re up past midnight checking if they watched your story.
Then boom, the beat drops, and suddenly you’re riding a wave of modern R&B vibes. The production, courtesy of Q Tha Producer and SOSX Beats, pulses, and surrounds, giving Holley’s lyrics the perfect playground to explore her want and the thrill of maybe being wanted back. She sings, “visualizing you at my door every time I’m scanning my camera roll,” trying to imagine physical intimacy through digital romance, while she’s living inside it, fleshed out in her head.
On top of that, the layering of vocals creates this emotional surround-sound. Meanwhile, Holley’s phrasing and vibrato keep things dynamic, sometimes tender, sometimes commanding, but always on point.
While we know “FOMO” is about missing out, here it’s also about feeling too much, and Amanda Holley captures it in the way only she can. In a world of swipe-rights and ghosted texts, this song is a slow, honest look at the fear and thrill of really feeling something.
So if you don’t wanna get FOMO as well, check it out on Spotify.
