Get Outta My Head by Sofia Evangelina: Review
Canadian musician, model, and actress Sofia Evangelina broke it with her debut album “Butterfly” back when she was 14, which was the start of many invigorating and timeless tracks. She’s been reigning RnB, pop, and hip hop genres in most of her tracks, all of which have made it into the top charts and gained thousands of streams on the platforms like Spotify.
In the single “Get Outta My Head,” you can hear Sofia’s fearless and powerful vocals, in a flow of lustful R&B pulling you into a melancholy atmosphere. The song is about falling in love without wanting to, and Sofia pleads with the criminal filling her mind to stay away even if she knows that it’ll never happen. The earth-crushing smoky track carries a Harley Quinn vibe to it. Hiding beneath its seductive melodies, there’s a burning and beautiful crescendo and a rhythm that will have you swaying. I love how Sofia can switch between soft angelic and a badass bold, to create such a captivating piece. She touches higher pitches and long-standing belts effortlessly without the frequency being ear-piercing, giving an incredible vocal range beyond her young age, reminding you of early Disney Demi Lovato.
Sofia is an outspoken artist and delivers advocacies of self-esteem and anti-bullying through her musical creations. She’s made a marking of her own at such a young age, proving that she’s got the makings of becoming a classic alto. Inspired by Burlesque star and singer Christina Aguilera but with an exploration of RnB, she’s won several eminent awards such as the LA Music Critic Awards.
