Italian artist Giack Bazz, born Federico Giacobazzi, brings his uniquely nostalgic style to life with “Get Together,” the last single before the launch of his fifth album, Bedtime Stories For Computers. Released on October 18, “Get Together” weaves vintage orchestral sounds with modern indie-rock warmth. Collaborating with the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Bazz creates a lush soundscape filled with violins, trombones, and flutes, with a dub-plate vinyl texture adding a retro-futuristic touch.
The track opens with gently strummed guitars, setting a laid-back yet inviting atmosphere. Bazz’s voice enters, soft and close-mic’d, with a clear tenderness that gives the song an intimate, almost confessional quality. His voice glides through rhymes with a relaxed cadence, establishing an easygoing storytelling tone that draws listeners in from the start. The drums join subtly, adding a warm groove as electric guitar melodies thread through, creating a rich but unhurried arrangement.
“Get Together” takes on an uplifting and catchy energy with the drums as Bazz’s vocals swell passionately, reaching an emotional peak as he sings the poignant line, “I just hope we will be together, you and me.” Here, the track becomes richly layered, with trombones and backing female vocals joining in, heightening the song’s nostalgic vibe. The music surrounds the listener, evoking a bittersweet sense of togetherness and longing.
Towards the end, the music breaks down with a sound reminiscent of a radio or TV glitch, and as the final notes dissipate, only the faint vocals remain. This effect leaves a haunting sense of ephemerality and wraps up the feeling of a daydream from the past being cut off and us being slowly pushed back to our present-day reality.
Giack Bazz is releasing Bedtime Stories For Computers on November 15, a day preceding the release show at the Sherrif Centre. What’s more—a short film and behind-the-scenes documentary are coming up too! So stay tuned!
