Ghost Girl by Juliet Callahan: Review
Juliet Callahan takes the listenersโ breath away with her fifth single, โGhost Girl,โ. The artist completes the image by singing in her angelic and emotive voice over a trap rhythm propelled by 808s, a piano line vibrating with a metallic tone, and an ambiance that fulfills the emotional feeling. The lyrics, on the other hand, depict a woman who became stronger by moving away from poisonous and traumatic intimacies with others.
As many individuals have experienced before, the song becomes incredibly relevant and hits close to home, but it is far from that. Every texture, including the aforementioned guitar riff and the delicate twinkles of synthesizers here and there, has its turn to shine. The music pops out at you with how much space there is for all the parts to dally with each other, while yet keeping to the formula that the artist established early on in the song with her tight, spotlight delivery. As the seconds pass on in this song, several components fill the space with pure acoustic delight, from the distant, spacious synthesizers to Julietโs whispery voice.
When they all get together, though, it is more than fantastic. Itโs already filled, varied, well-balanced, and rewarding. This track will engulf you in its atmosphere; so do give it a listen.
