Git It by Reue: Review
Ethan Reue Berdofe AKA “Reue” is an electronic artist with immense potential. The Austin-based artist mixes deep house and atmospheric electronica in his track “Git It.” In its essence, the song is an instrumental piece with a tornado of melodies: one minute a rollercoaster of synth bass, and the next a thunderous beat sequence.
“Git It” initiates with an ambient section pertaining to a rhythmic swirl. Eventually when the beat drops, a weighty bass kicks with a hip-hop outfit. The distinct punchiness of this track is quite uplifting, and its melodic structure is marvelous to hear. Folks, I’ve been a late bloomer to the realm of trance and house. As a pre-teen metalhead back in the old days I explored the web for the most aggressive music known to man. It wasn’t until my youthful angst faded and maturity kicked in that led me to the bee’s knees of EDM. Something about the vibrations of digitized bass in dance music enamored me, and the impression is much stronger with artists such as Reue taking the helm.
I thoroughly enjoyed the production quality of “Git It.” Particularly its electro-bass sequences incorporating lighter compressed passages leading up to more amplified sections. Altogether it was a thrilling track that is ideal for introducing someone to trance and EDM. So if you are undergoing genre transitions on your playlist (like I was in my younger years), and seek something that is dance-worthy Reue’s music should definitely be up your alley!
