Glisten by ANTimus Prime: Review

I love listening to Hip-hop and Rap tracks that have Jazz elements in them. Such is the case with ‘Glisten’ by ANTimus Prime. It is a brilliant song filled with a colorful ensemble. The rapper’s flow is smooth and mixes perfectly with the emotion of the instruments. Some synth aspects are present, and even a faint trumpet is in the background. All of it is commanded by an interesting percussion beat that doesn’t follow the traditional beat pattern. Instead is more of a fusion of pop and jazz time signatures.

The melodic verses and hook of the track are sensational and bring out a calming effect. The rapping is aggressive and it sounds dope, and somehow it mixes quite well with the slow-tempo instruments. The artist’s voice is also quite phenomenal, and he has style in the way the words are portrayed. Now, about the music video! It was a simple one, with some retro effects, and mixed greatly with the song’s structure.

ANTimus Prime is a hip-hop artist hailing from North Carolina. He has amassed quite a large following on his tracks which have been uploaded to the artist’s Soundcloud page. According to ANTimus Prime his song ‘Glisten’ is a direct reflection of the rapper’s personal life and his loved ones as well. No wonder the song sounds so touching and remarkable! It has polish and all the ingredients of a bonafide killer hip-hop track.
