GOLD RECORD Released Sensational Single ‘New Dimension’
Three longtime friends named Evan Michalski, Noah Clark, and Ryan McKone make up the band GOLD RECORD. In order to maintain a strong creative focus while under lockdown and to celebrate their love of collaboration and adventurous pop music, the trio formed the band in 2020 while they were separated and living in the Bay Area, California, and the High Desert, New Mexico. This is how Gold Record was born.
Principal songwriter Noah Clark re-imagines three of the original 2020 releases via synth, groovy ‘dreamixes’ for Volume 2: Collector’s Edition after quickly writing and self-releasing 8 EPs and a full length titled ‘Tranquilizer.’ Anton Patzner, a frequent collaborator, co-mixed the EP (Foxtails Brigade, Laura & Anton).
The record opens with ‘Experiences.’ The protagonist is asked to “please tell” the narrator about all of their experiences in the song’s lyrics. It is motivated by attempting to see the best in others even when they are unable to do so in themselves, according to Clark. Life is more interesting when you explore the many facets of your peers, and everyone has something to offer. The outcome is a dreamy reworking of the songs that gives the trio’s pop music vision new dimensions.
Noah Clark from Gold Record discusses ‘Volume 2: Collector’s Edition.’ “After spending my entire life in California, I moved to New Mexico just before I started writing these songs. On voice memos, the lyrics were recorded while jogging through the high desert. They mostly concern having the courage to say something uplifting. The most important thing is being willing to put yourself out there every day, whether it is easy or difficult at times. Being able to distribute these songs widely is very satisfying.”
