The Swedish band Pressure takes you into the battlefield as his characters fight upon fire, blazing underneath in his fantastically dark yet anthemic EP, “Heroes Will Fall.”
What I personally love about this EP is that it is narrated from the demon’s perspective. The demons are getting recognition just like the heroes. The equality is retained in the crashing drums, energetic and vigorous vocals, and driving guitars. The blend of rock, metal, electronic, and pop is tributed perfectly with just the right amount of gnarl and anthem.
The opening track, “Demonic Oath,” sets an intense tone for the anthemic EP with a pounding and vigorous introduction. The lead vocalist’s clear, declarative voice adds a sense of gravitas, which complements the lyrics’ theme of unwavering commitment and allegiance.
“Metal Morning,” the third track, intensifies the clarion call of battle with uproarious, vitriolic vocals. The song builds with a sense of urgency, pushing listeners into the throes of war.
The closing track, “My Old Dagger,” provides a proud and defiant conclusion to the EP. The deep, gritty vocals sing with a sharp catchiness and rich riffing guitar tunes. It underscores the theme of the unwavering demon commander who faces their defeat with honor and courage.
Pressure is a true storyteller in the music industry as they have taken on their self-made genre Story Metal mixing their influences. They exerted the pressure found in the story of “Heroes Will Fall” and reacted perfectly with the driving instrumentals in the 5 tracks.
