Hollishead, an EP by TEB, accompanies the hazy voice of Travis singing lazily in Fortunes Found, coming off as effortless beside the salsa musical rhythm. The directed musical composition of the guitar has a storytelling vibe, while the drum and cymbal notes keep thrumming throughout the track, retaining balance and giving the song more ground.
Sauce is a fully instrumental track that TEP utilizes to demonstrate the jazzy depth provided in their music. The track is catchy for its easy musical styling and swinging pendulum. Sprite begins with a nice drive, and the instrumentals stay low as we are brought to attention by the mystical voice of Travis. It’s adventurous with the guitar directing the lyrics, especially as he sings, “You don’t have to chase your sorrow.”
Where was I today? Keeps the funk of the album but gives it more dimension with something more refreshing and less stretched to sound a certain way. It’s original, with the sophisticated hi-hat sound giving the song more smack.
The opus of the track, the showstopper, Still Turning, refines the EP with the perfect close other tracks couldn’t deliver. The guitars loosely flow with the rhythm. The synth waves visit us in the middle for a haunting atmospheric effect, providing more space for the sound. The track is filled with hollow as the guitar chimes in the back for a while until the drums come back, with the piano sounding even dreamier than before. It’s a soothing conclusion to the soulful, dreamy album Hollishead has been working on.
