Hunnid is a multi-award winning urban performer, composer, producer, and engineer who has received numerous honors. The one-man army is on a mission to be the voice for those who are often silenced, and he is constantly increasing the standard for himself.
โIn my time listening to hip hop (since the 1990โs) Iโve not heard anything like Hunnid before. This is a single song called โBuss Thatโ and it has a catchy chorus as itโs just a matter of singing along with โBuss that, baby, buss thatโ and I feel like it could be a strong radio single in that senseโ because it has that pop appeal within the chorus but what it could be compared with in terms of other songs Iโve heard is not so easily defined.โ
Jake got the nickname โHunnidโ after a buddy from another part of town found he was from 118th S. Eggleston, where he was born and reared by his single mother. This was a crime-ridden and impoverished neighborhood known as โThe Wild, Wild Hundredsโ by locals. His moniker stuck with him from then on. When he went on to acquire rapid fame in high school, it became his identity. Jake gained notoriety when he began spitting epic freestyles over strong rhythms made by classmates who would pound their fists on the lunch table in a melodic manner.
