I Can’t Wait by Maddy Carty: Review

The current single, titled “I Can’t Wait,” has Maddy’s endearing vocals over a clapping background and a repeating melody that will have you bopping along in no time. It’s become one of her most popular songs on Spotify, however, you may listen to it on other services if you choose.

The song deftly walks the line between being original and intriguing while also being easily approachable, giving us a look inside the artist’s introspective songwriting and showcasing her beautiful, dreamy soundscapes and voice until the very last second of the song. It’s one of the best-produced songs in the modern landscape, and two names worth mentioning besides Maddy Carty herself are Phil Swan and Rhiannon Mair for their beautiful touch in post-production. This is another fantastic tune from an artist whose individuality and skill shine through in every measure, portraying a heartbreaking tale of love and loss. Somehow the track also manages to leave a hint of optimism by the end. Continuing to live up to her previous works, Maddy has set fire to the stage with a mesmerizing soundscape that will make you go hippity hop.

What I find endearing is Maddy’s personal touch, giving her music a signature intimate sound. She remains genuinely vulnerable, and delivers with honesty, leaving her listeners craving for more. ‘I Can’t Wait’ is just the latest proof of her boundless talent, and I can’t wait to listen to more of her!
