Chicago-based singer-songwriter, producer and poet, Sarantos releases poignant and personal new song, “I Thought.” Sarantos shows us what despair looks like as he unfolds the song with a contemplative string arrangement and gentle guitar strumming. With that, he sets a reflective beginning.
As Sarantos’ husky, high voice enters, we find ourselves interspersed in introspection and vulnerability. His vocals are paced slow and defeated while coupled with despondent lyrics. Meanwhile, beats ground the song, providing a rhythmic foundation. In the background, a swelling melody adds a cinematic edge.
The song is poetic with lyrics that seeks help from a higher power in despondency when burdened with the weighty decision of suicide. Sarantos courageously bares his soul, using music as a medium to express what he went through as he created the artistry of “I Thought.” On the other hand, it also proves that what he was going through were merely a manifestation of his thoughts.
The Chicago artist also has a music video alongside the musical composition. The video visually complements the artist’s thoughts expressed in the song. It makes us not only hear but also see and feel the depth of Sarantos’ experience.
Sarantos is a committed artist and he hosts the Songwriters Radio Show available on various platforms, including iHeartRadio, Spotify, Spreaker, iTunes, TuneIn, Stitcher, Alexa, and Google Play.
All in all, “I Thought” helps us relate in our mental struggles and relaxes us in our stances. Stay tuned with Sarantos for more of his expressive and authentic art.
