โI Wonder (for Us)โ by Erotika Dabra is a visceral, soul-baring narrative, wrapped in immersive alt-electronic production and shaped as a two-part musical release. Through โI Wonder (For You)โ and โI Wonder (For Me),โ the Canberra-based multidisciplinary artist builds a deeply personal yet communal arc that transforms pain into presence and silence into sound. The tracks, released in February and May 2025 respectively, function as mirror images โ one looking outward, the other within โ ultimately fusing into a singular story of survival, self-possession, and reclamation.
The first track, โI Wonder (For You),โ opens with haunting spoken-word delivered in Erotika Dabraโs grave, textured voice, floating through an atmospheric soundscape charged with rippling synths and glitchy pulses. As the bass drops and a high, serpentine melody creeps in, the track becomes a hypnotic confrontation. Thereโs weight in every beat, every pause, as if the track itself is navigating the heavy silence left by abuse. This reckons the โyouโ who left wounds, handled with clarity and subtle rage.
Then comes the turn inward. โI Wonder (For Me)โ shifts the lens, creating a sonic cocoon for reflection. A slow-blooming beat taps like anxious fingers against a table, while Erotika utters soft, tentative, but brave refrains that sounds like a โHey.โ The bass is cavernous and steady, holding space as the artist reclaims their body and voice with growing certainty. The production grows tenser, more electric, buzzing faster toward the end as if mimicking the pulse of coming alive again.
Together, the two tracks make โI Wonder (for Us)โ a healing ritual for all of us haunted souls to come alive again. Check it out on Spotify.
