I’ll be gone by Milena Galasso: Review
A reflective yet upbeat song that was inspired by the desire to find freedom through music. This song represents a journey towards freedom that begins with doubts and fantasies and gradually leads to the action itself, be it in a toxic friendship, relationship, or even a place. ‘I’ll be gone’ is a marvelously catchy organic pop song with a taste of the early 2000s. Milena’s strong vocals, which draw inspiration from Natalie Imbruglia and Taylor Swift, seamlessly blend with the catchy guitar riffs and fast-paced drumbeat. The song was written in Autumn two years ago, shortly after she moved to London, and it represents the start of a fruitful collaboration with her producer Alex Rigueiro.
Singer-songwriter Milena Galasso, whose Italian and Serbian ancestry has influenced her POP music, is based in London. She reminds me of Tate McRae and Justin Bieber combined. She was raised in a religious household, so her desire to find freedom through music was evident from an early age. However, it wasn’t until she continued on to BIMM London to pursue a master’s in Popular Music Practice that she expanded her range of stylistic expression and discovered her passion for electronic sounds, such as vocal chops, which now influences her work. Her music has so far been timeless and unaffected by modern musical trends, but it still feels approachable and sounds new every time you listen to it.
