โIn Itโ by Nomadic Firs breathes on its ownโorganic, fluid, and totally unforced. Ryan Boos, the mind behind the project, has always been a bit of a wanderer through sound, but here, it lands with both feet firmly on the ground while still keeping its head in the clouds. Coming off the heels of Love Is Violent, which was heavy with introspection and shadows of old struggles, โIn Itโ swings the pendulum the other way.
โIn Itโ comes from sobriety, yoga, dancing in the sun, even the ambiance of his 120-year-old bungalow with kids running around and plants spilling over. That all bleeds into the music effortlessly. The production toys with earthy textures, thanks to Soma Laboratoriesโ Cosmos Drifting Memory Station, which grounds the electronic foundation. It flows like a steady and refreshing stream.
The chorus, โWe canโt rise and fake life and stay in it.โ That line alone ties the whole thing together, carrying the weight of Boosโ philosophy without dragging it down. His vocal delivery is airy and run-on, sliding from one line to the next like heโs floating just above the beat, surrendered to the watery calm of the music. And man, those catchy drums just push the song along with this hypnotic steadiness. It was born from pure movement to inspire imagination out of the box.
Nomadic Firs has never been just about music, though. Boos is a multidisciplinary machine, having music, visual art, poetry, and even his Healers Canvas Etsy store to his name, tying it all together. And the thing is, you hear that multicolored creativity in โIn It.โ It feels like an artist fully present. With his lineage of influences, Air, The Beta Band, Velvet Underground, you can catch in the DNA of the song, but itโs all refracted through Boosโ own prism.
At the end of the day, โIn Itโ is simply unique. Listen to it on Spotify.
