BONVOLโs INFINITX feels like a passport stamped in sound, as an album shaped by motion, memory, and the quiet thrill of drifting between places. Hailing from northern France, the producer pulls from a wide palette, EDM, deep house, chill, even jazz, to craft something thatโs less about club bangers and more about atmosphere. Thereโs a sense of precision here, sure, but also a softness, like each track is designed to linger rather than explode. And honestly, that balance is where INFINITX really finds its groove.
The album opens with โTomahawk,โ and right away, it sets the tone. Soft, clinking textures pulse gently, like distant lights flickering on a night flight, before the beat drops in, steady, grounded. Itโs subtle, almost hypnotic, easing you into BONVOLโs world without making a big fuss about it.
A few tracks in, โWhisperingsโ leans further into that intimate, late-night vibe. Thereโs an airy, atmospheric quality to it, with pulsating percussion keeping things alive beneath the surface. Then come the breathy, sensual vocals, half-spoken, half-felt, adding a human touch to the otherwise floating soundscape.
By the time โ404โ rolls around, the album hits a kind of emotional stride. Whooshing textures glide in and out, layered with shimmering, almost liquid sounds, while a punchy beat anchors everything in place. A spoken male vocal comes whispering sexily as the soft, airy female harmonies dreamily enthrall.
All in all, INFINITX is a slow burn, a sonic journey that unfolds bit by bit. And if you let it, itโll take you somewhere else entirely.
