Influencer by The Qwarks: Review
Hey-ho! Someone call the funk academy, cause The Qwarks just released a lit song titled ‘Influencer’. As I heard the funky guitars, groovy bass, and unique vocals, instantly I knew this was gonna be a worthwhile listen. ‘Influencer’ strongly reminds me of early Red Hot Chili Peppers, especially the song ‘Give it Away’. I truly enjoyed listening to the guitar shreds, and the energetic flow of the song.
The Qwarks are a very ‘fun’ band to listen to. By fun I mean, they’re the kinda band that will liven up any situation in life. Got a bad day at work? Listen to ‘Influencer’! Accidentally slipped on a banana peel and broke your hand? Go to the hospital! But on your way listen to ‘Influencer’! At least you’ll have a killer jam as you fix your arm. Although I do hope for the best health of all listeners, no offense! The vocals match perfectly with the instrument’s fast-paced structure. They don’t scream much, but it’s the attitude and overall style of the voice which intrigued me.
While the verses are humorous, the song’s mellow chorus reveals a more vulnerable side as it describes an influencer. The Qwarks’ subsequent albums build upon the themes introduced in the previous singles, which depict The Qwarks attempting to make sense of a surreal society in which everyone has been turned into a walking billboard. The collapse of Western civilization and the absurdity of much of the current frenzied activity and ceaseless spectacle are two recurring themes on the new album by The Qwarks.
