Inside Out by THENEAR: Review
Gold Coastโs rising artist THENEARSโs latest single Inside Out is a hit waiting to be found.
Starting off the song with warm piano chords over crackling sounds of vinyl and a train in the distance the song wastes no time to create a cozy atmosphere for the listening experience that is about to unfold. A bright acoustic guitar, THENEARโs lush vocals and warm sliding melodies enter one by one and starts to shape the song like building blocks. Toward the end of the first verse the vocal harmonization takes its listeners by surprise and adds an ethereal vibe to its already warm ambiance.
The song follows a traditional verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus structure that is nothing new in pop and indie music but the progression and the arrangement is what make this song stand out and creates an amazing listening experience. Starting to tell a story and setting up the mood with the verse and getting it all out in the chorus then building up the tension again in the bridge before laying it all down for one last time in the closing chorus, the song keeps the audience captivated the whole time with its raw heartfelt confessional storytelling and its melodic prowess. Especially how the different melodies and harmonization unfold themselves one by one. Combine that with THENEARโs warm, bright lush vocals singing the heartfelt lyrics, you have a song that is worthy of playing on repeat on a cozy Autumn night.
