Iridescent by Sequel Films: Review

โIridescent,โ an irresistibly luscious single from Brighton-based artist Sequel Films, is the first song released after Adam Hailstoneโs first EP. Adam is a solo musician and guitarist whose father inspired him to pursue music. He created the tune using a do-it-yourself setup. He opted to produce and release on his own after being in a few bands. He draws inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, Matt Corby, and The Maccabees.
The diverse blend of synth-pop and rock comes through with a nostalgic flare; nonetheless, a modern dose of alternative rock makes an appearance with a bold guitar โ like a brilliant flash of light exploding through a melancholy aural haze. This song covers anxiousness and being an introverted character, as well as how some people deal with it in their daily lives. Thereโs something humbling and empathetic about artists that dive into the depths to bring hope and light. The music seems like an escape to a dreamlike realm, like slipping into a safety net filled with flower petals. The song is about anxiety and the overwhelming feeling of an introvert encountering the outer world. The songโs general tone is pleasant and safe. The atmosphere has a lovely, ethereal feel with a tint of pop cheerfulness that raises the song even higher.
The music arrangement is rich and energetic, with a lot of sound characters. There are a lot of drums leading the sluggish tempo rhythm, stunning muted friendly acoustic guitar riffs, and noticeable cymbals splitting up the music piece. The tune is effervescent, and the vocals are calm, compassionate, and soft-spoken.
